Our Midwest Vacation

After 1-1/2 years, we figured it was time to give the flight to MN another go.  Connor was very excited to go on the airplane and he did very well.  If we could just get him to understand that kicking the seat in front of him is not funny, we would be set!

We were in MN for a limited time, but we tried to fit in plenty of activity...

Grandpa Don took Connor to a neighbor's place to see what some of the barnyard animals that he sings about look like (it's odd to think that he has never seen a cow or horse or chicken before, but that's life at the beach I guess).

Connor's 2nd Birthday

It's hard to believe that 2 years ago, we were kissing his chubby little cheeks for the first time and now we are kissing his chubby little cheeks as a toddler! 

Since we were leaving on our trip the following week, we opted out of throwing a big birthday party.  Grandma & Grandpa Flynn came to help celebrate the weekend before and Connor spent his actual birthday having fun with his friends at day care.

The morning after he got his grill, he was in the living room cooking us some breakfast.  It was taking too long, so he went to grab a chair.

Sometimes you just have to patiently hang out at the grill, read a book and wait for the food to cook...

At daycare...

Yup, Mom made the birthday treats...cupcakes disguised as ice cream cones.  Connor doesn't eat sweets like this, so he LOVED it and was the first one done, naturally.

He still sings Happy Birthday to himself every once in a while and talks about blowing out the candles.  Birthday's sure are a lot more fun when you understand that the celebrating is for you.

Happy Father's Day!

For those of you who haven't already heard, we found out that we will be having a baby girl this October!  We couldn't be happier!!

This year for Father's Day, we went to San Diego and Connor got to swim in Grandma and Grandpa's pool.  The water was pretty cold, but he didn't seem to mind.

Our new & improved backyard

Connor is almost 2 and we think we have finally finished "baby proofing."  Last step was a fence in the backyard which Chad built along with wood finishing on the old (ugly) concrete wall.

As you can see, Connor was a pretty big help too...he logged many hours in the backyard with Daddy throughout this project.

A visit from Grandma & Auntie Stacy

Grandma Kirchberg and Auntie Stacy came  to visit Connor at the end of April.  We had great weather and Connor enjoyed their time together.  Mommy & Daddy even got away for a date night!  Every once in a while, Connor still says "bye bye Grandma.  bye bye Stacy.  airplane."  We'll see everyone again soon as our July trip to the Midwest is quickly approaching!
