Christmas 2010

We went down to San Diego to spend Christmas with Grandma & Grandpa Flynn and Auntie Tammie.  Unfortunately, Connor was teething again and so it wasn't exactly a "Merry" Christmas for him, but he loves all the new clothes and fun toys he got!

Finally, our happy baby is back!

Auntie Tammie then came back to the beach with us and got to spend bonus days hanging out with Connor before flying home to Seattle - they both had so much fun!  If only Auntie Tam & Sus lived closer...they could fight over taking care of Connor!





My 2 Front Teeth...

Connor cut his first 2 teeth today!!  His bottom teeth finally broke through (which explains his fussy behavior over the past week).  We are so proud of our little boy!!!

Early Christmas with Grandma & Grandpa Kirchberg

Grandma & Grandpa K came this past weekend and they couldn't have asked for better weather. It was 75 at the beach while Minnesota was battling 2 feet of snow and sub zero temperatures. It was Don's first time seeing his grandson..they quickly bonded and were attached at the hip pretty much all weekend. Dianne and Mindy made Christmas cookies, we had our Christmas dinner and...presents! Connor isn't old enough to really appreciate the act of opening gifts, but he sure does love to grab a handful of wrapping paper and listen to it crinkle in his hands.

5 months old!

It's hard to believe that our little baby is already 5 months old (granted, he wears 9 month clothing right now)!



Happy Thanksgiving

Grandma and Grandpa Flynn came from San Diego to help Connor celebrate his first Thanksgiving.  As it turns out, he got a lot of recognition this year when we went around the table to say what we were thankful for...

Sunny Days!

While family and friends in Minnesota experienced their first snowstorm last night, we are enjoying warm summer-like weather here at the beach! We just wrapped-up a 5 mile run/walk on the strand and then stopped to play frisbee in the sand. It doesn't get better than this...

New Toys

Now that Connor can hold his (big) head up, we decided to bring out a few new toys to see if he would like them.

A visit from Great Gramma & Auntie Susan

Great Gramma Opal and Auntie Sus came from Seattle to meet Connor this past week. Not only did they get to meet him, but they also got to babysit!  We had such a nice time having them around and Connor misses telling them so many stories.

Grandma Karen and Grandpa Jerry came to stay with all of us on Saturday and we kicked off Halloween week with a pumpkin carving contest!  The votes are still being tallied up - it seems to be a close one for Karen, Chad and Sus...apparently, Mindy's wasn't a big hit.  

We felt it only appropriate to get Connor in his monkey costume for a few shots.  He managed to put in about 4 minutes before melting, so these are the highlights:

Connor Meets Grandpa Knox

Last weekend, Connor got to meet his Grandpa Knox and Cindy who were visiting from Minnesota.  We strolled in the chilly weather, went out to dinner and watched a lot of football.  He loved getting so much attention and he especially loved the helium balloon they brought him (which is still capturing his attention for hours each day).

So many new things!

Connor is now 3 months old and he has experienced a number of new things over the past few weeks...

He started sleeping through the night about 2 weeks ago!  It lasted for a few nights and then he regressed to getting up for a bottle after 6-7 hours.  Last night he made it through 9 hours, so we're getting close...

He is becoming more dexterous with his hands and he now reaches for his toys and his blanket (to shove in his mouth, naturally).   He also knows how to roll over from his belly to his back.  We are proud of his accomplishments but, on the other hand, it means that we can no longer leave him unattended on the couch while we walk away to do something.

Mommy headed back to work this past week (she is lucky enough to only have to go in 2 days a week) and so Connor spends Tuesday's and Thursday's with our nanny, Blanca.  Amazingly, there were no tears shed during this initial separation period and Connor eats up all of the personal attention he gets from her.

...and, yes, he just keeps getting cuter and cuter with each passing day...

Football Sundays!

Connor's not quite sure where his football allegiances lie. We seem to think it's with the Seahawks since he did a lot less crying during their game as opposed to the Vikings game.

Growth Spurt

Connor has gone through a major growth spurt in the past 2 weeks!! His cheeks, chin(s) and thighs are pretty chubby...they are perfect for kissing!
