Chad and I had a great time taking Connor to Disneyland and California Adventure yesterday! Connor knew we were going to see where Mickey and friends lived, but I think he was a little overwhelmed with how awesome it really was!
Lines were short and we got to go on a lot of rides. Some fun, some not so fun. We scarred him a little bit by thinking that Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and Pirates of the Caribbean weren't going to be scary. He did good not crying, but he spent all but the first minutes of Pirates with his head in my lap (he actually fell asleep).
He woke-up this morning recapping our fun day and I'm sure we'll be talking about it for a long time. I'm already excited to go back!
We kicked off the weekend by going to Connor's day care for their little Easter egg hunt. As you can see, the eggs were very tricky to find in the yard. Connor got about 10 and then told us that he had enough and was done. Less candy = fine by me!
This was the first year that Connor participated in egg coloring. He did a decent job with exception to constantly putting his hands in the dye...that stuff is hard to get off!
Grandma Karen is taking ukulele lessons and so she brought it to practice. Connor was great at strumming it and singing with her.

Easter morning...Connor picked-out his shirt saying he wanted to wear a "colorful" one.
Connor was so excited when he got up Easter morning and looked out his window to see that the Easter bunny put eggs in the back yard!
(and, no, we can't bring ourselves to cut his curls yet, so he has wings)
We had to dress the kids up for a few pictures - they clean up real nice.
Chad's Grandma (otherwise known as "GG" - Great Grandma) turned 85 years old and the whole family was in San Diego to celebrate. We had a great time spending time with everyone and having spare hands around to entertain the kids!
YUP...can't figure out how to get an iPhone picture to rotate when uploading...sigh.
Grandma Dianne and Grandpa Don came to visit at the end of January. Weather here at the beach was cool that week, but it was better than the sub-zero weather that Minnesota was experiencing.
Wow, having 2 kids is draining...I haven't blogged for 3 months!
What did you miss? Well, Grandpa Don, Grandma Dianne, Auntie Stacy, Grandpa John and Cindy all came to visit and meet Camille throughout the month following her birth. Chad made a delicious Thanksgiving feast for us to enjoy with his Mom and Dad. Our days and nights were a blur with a newborn, but we're getting back on track now that we're back to work and we have a great nanny at home with Camille 3 days a week (I stay home the other days).
The next 2 big events in our life were Christmas and Hawaii!!
CHRISTMAS 2012
Connor spent the few months prior to Christmas convincing us (and Santa) that he has been a very good boy and he really, really, really wanted a little bike that he could pedal himself. It was nice having something to hold against him if he would misbehave. I absolutely threw out the whole "Santa is watching you" and "if you're naughty, you won't get any presents for Christmas" comments and they worked pretty well.
As it turns out, he DID get his bike...although it took him a very long time to realize it was right there in front of the tree...
Thanks to my boss for letting us stay in his amazing timeshare at the Mariott Ko Olina and thanks to our fabulous nanny (Chad's Mom), we were able to enjoy a family vacation this year...in Oahu of all places!
To our surprise, both kids did great on the long flight and we had such a fun time relaxing and enjoying the views. Mommy & Daddy even got the chance to ditch the kids for paddle boarding and dinner out. Connor had the best time of all - swimming for hours and hours each day. If only we could get his time share every year!!
