Catching-up...Thanksgiving, Christmas & Hawaii!

Wow, having 2 kids is draining...I haven't blogged for 3 months!
What did you miss?  Well, Grandpa Don, Grandma Dianne, Auntie Stacy, Grandpa John and Cindy all came to visit and meet Camille throughout the month following her birth.  Chad made a delicious Thanksgiving feast for us to enjoy with his Mom and Dad.  Our days and nights were a blur with a newborn, but we're getting back on track now that we're back to work and we have a great nanny at home with Camille 3 days a week (I stay home the other days).
The next 2 big events in our life were Christmas and Hawaii!!

CHRISTMAS 2012 

Connor spent the few months prior to Christmas convincing us (and Santa) that he has been a very good boy and he really, really, really wanted a little bike that he could pedal himself.  It was nice having something to hold against him if he would misbehave.  I absolutely threw out the whole "Santa is watching you" and "if you're naughty, you won't get any presents for Christmas" comments and they worked pretty well.
As it turns out, he DID get his bike...although it took him a very long time to realize it was right there in front of the tree...

HAWAII - January 2013

Thanks to my boss for letting us stay in his amazing timeshare at the Mariott Ko Olina and thanks to our fabulous nanny (Chad's Mom), we were able to enjoy a family vacation this year...in Oahu of all places!
To our surprise, both kids did great on the long flight and we had such a fun time relaxing and enjoying the views.  Mommy & Daddy even got the chance to ditch the kids for paddle boarding and dinner out.  Connor had the best time of all - swimming for hours and hours each day.  If only we could get his time share every year!!

Daddy and Auntie Tammy took Connor to Target the weekend before Halloween and had fun dressing him up in random costumes...

Connor was a Super Hero and he was really excited to go trick-or-treating for the first time ever.  He spent time the night before practicing:

Welcome Camille Kay!!

Camille Kay Flynn was born on October 25th, 2012 at 8:11 am. 
She was 7 lbs, 11 oz and 20" long.

It's GO TIME!

Wow, the past 39 weeks have gone by so fast!  I have been so busy that I haven't even come to terms with the fact that tomorrow we will welcome our new baby girl into the family.  It's bittersweet knowing that tonight will be our last night as a family of 3.  I think the hardest thing for me to wrap my head around is that I will not be able to pick-up Connor for around 3-4 weeks.  That is my only real concern right now.  Connor knows what is happening tomorrow...we're going to the hospital and the doctor is going to take his baby sister out of my tummy.  He knows that I will have a hurt tummy and won't be able to do all the things that I have been doing with him until it gets better.  He acts like he completely understands it all and repeats it back to me, but I'm certain his idea of what is happening may be a bit different than reality (I neglected to mention to him that another baby means I will have to split my attention between the 2 of them). 

So, here it is...my 23 lbs of belly gained this time around...

here's hoping that I lose it just as fast as I did with Connor!

Carving Pumpkins

This was Connor's first year carving a pumpkin.  Daddy did all the dirty work and Mommy carved it (well, I cheated by using a pattern).  Connor did occupy himself for a long time by thinking he was scraping it out and pretending to carve it...

We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday and had a great time!  Connor surprised us by wanting to go on rides...by himself!  Chad and I stood to the side and had a bittersweet moment of realizing how much he has grown.
Never did we think he would go on a ride that moves this fast, but he loved it and went on it 2 more times.
